Council can not investigate a barking dog complaint without the evidence provided in a barking dog diary. Please fill in a 7-day diary, which can be found at www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/report-barking-dog and document the times, dates and severity of the barking.

Definition of Nuisance: Section 32 (2)(b) of the Domestic Animals Act 1994 provides that; “A dog or cat is to be regarded as a nuisance for the purpose of this section…If it creates a noise, by barking or otherwise, which persistently occurs or continues to such a degree or extent that it unreasonably interferes with the peace, comfort or convenience of any person in any other premises.”
